Windows 7 Beta something to check out
I just installed it on my laptop, and so far it's running like a final release, not a beta. No driver issues like Vista had(and sometimes still has). It's faster than XP, and graphics drivers for Vista seem to work well. GW looks great, of course. Thinking of installing WAR. Anyone else try this out, yet?

Meh, they removed my beloved classic menu.
I installed it on a virtual machine and it's great so far.

Windows 7 is the next operating system, Vista was filler between XP and 7. In other words, Windows 7 won't suck massive nuts like Vista did, because they're actually working on it being a replacement OS for XP, and the next big OS upgrade.

Actually I said this to a couple friends when they first released Vista - that it would be exactly like Windows Me, in that it was a poorly made operating system to 'fill space' before the next big one.

I think anyone with at least minimal knowledge would say that.
The rest paid a LOT for Alpha version of Windows 7.

Paid? Who pays for Alpha of an OS? It was leaked onto the internet weeks ago....

Vista filled XP security holes and paved the way for the kernel rewrite whose results we'll only see on seven. Bad business? probably. Bad OS? Not really.
Windows Me was an accident.
Multitouch is cool, but it won't work with the current generation of touchscreens. They need to be a lot cleaner, just imagine what people will have on their fingers and they're going to use them on the screen?
Cool UI though.

LOL Ballmer Peak always makes me giggle.
Win7 works great for me. It's faster, definately. It's way more stable than Vista was at this state (I played a lot of GW during Vista beta and pre-beta), and so far I've had few problems (a few driver weirdnesses).
I'm running GW and Lord of the Rings Online and they're running great. A few games I've heard problems with, but that's to be expected in a beta.

Vista did provide a good 64-bit OS to tide over for that mean time, you can't deny that.
I do hope that Windows 7 is at least somewhat better, all the UI changes and those features are entirely irrelevant to me, since you can customize all of that anyway, and those features existed eons ago in third party programs and such anyways. It's all about functionality of the OS for me first, almost like gameplay > graphics.
I would be kicking myself more if I had bought Vista-32bit, but since I got 64 bit I actually felt like it was of some use, was no point in 32 bit really.

Well this is news to me, yay bigger numbers: 64 bit will be big. Not that I'm too knowledgeable about this sort of stuff anyway.
